How can we help?!
It was launched with the realization: there was much to do if we looked up and outside of our comfort niche.
Someone’s waste could be a luxury for another! Extra food, recycled-upcycled clothes, blankets, books, utensils, stationary supplies, sanitary napkins, electronic devices and many other such commodities had the potential to provide sustenance and practically change the lives of the economically weaker population, orphaned children, abandoned senior citizens, widows/destitute women, slum dwellers and daily wage labourers etc.
‘Harsevak’ (one who serves), is a brainchild of an 11 year old student of Delhi Public School. The organization was conceived during the world’s most challenging year of this decade: 2020, which marked the beginning of the longest pandemic of corona virus. ‘Harseva’ is a Sanskrit word which means: Service (seva ) for all (har). March is the awaited birthday month of the founder of Harsevak, however the birthday of March 2020 was a turning point and a defining moment for Jia who had to cancel her party and grasp the meaning and impact of an overnight, abrupt nationwide lockdown!
